Job description Sr. Engineer(8B)/Asst. Manager (8C/8) / Dep. Manager (L9) / Manager (L10) Physical Crash Testing (01 ARAI Regular)-EDS ARAI, Pune is a premier Automotive Research Institute, with the Ministry of Heavy Industries, involved in R&D, Homologation, Testing & Certification, Calibration & Skill Development services to Automotive and Allied industries globally. We are looking for the following position for our High Energy Impact Test (HEIT) Facility @ MRC Takwe, part of the Engineering Design & Simulation (EDS): The candidate should be B. E. / B. Tech. or M. E. / M. Tech. in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering from reputed University with First Class or 8+ CGPA Work Experience: At least 4+ years of experience in physical crash testing domain, preferably in Vehicle Security Barrier / Highway Safety Barrier product testing. Candidates should possess necessary skill sets mentioned in below job description Competencies / Skills: Preferred knowledge and thorough understanding of either of vehicle security barrier / highway safety barrier evaluation standards (ISO IWA 14 / ASTM F2656 / BSI PAS 68 / EN 1317 / MASH / EN 12767), with additional know-how of various passive safety testing procedures Understanding the following physical crash testing procedures Mechanical preparation of impact vehicle: hands-on experience of preparing impact test vehicle with regards to weight distribution using ballast, carrying out dimensional measurements and other associated activities Data acquisition system: hands-on experience of setting up and operating Kistler or similar make data acquisition systems, including mounting the same on test vehicle High speed cameras: hands-on experience of setting up and operating Photron or similar make high speed cameras, including mounting and aligning the same on tripods and camera mounts Speed measurement system: hands-on experience of setting up and operating Vbox or similar make speed measurement system, including mounting the same on test vehicle Crash testing sensors: hands-on experience of setting up and using various types of crash testing sensors viz. accelerometer, gyro, weighing pads, etc., including configuration and pasting the same on test vehicle or product Device Under Test (DUT) installation: hands-on experience of installing DUT, preferably with knowledge of piling process, rebar cage installation, concrete civil foundations, etc. Project management: Demonstrable experience of managing the complete testing loop / project of physical crash testing from customer RFQ to completion of deliverables. Should have good communication skills to deal with customers for testing related discussions. Test data analysis: Demonstrable experience of preparing detailed technical reports of the physical crash test(s) providing details of the test observations, inferences and conclusions Demonstrable experience of preparation of work instructions, test procedures, periodic review / upgrade of such procedures for various activities involved in physical crash testing Thorough knowledge of MS Office tools including MS Project Knowledge of programming languages for scripting / automation will be an added advantage. Demonstrable experience of implementation of management systems in the test facility (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 27001 / 45001 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements) Description of Duties: Lead and assist towards preparing the quality plan for weekly, monthly and quarterly basis for physical crash testing projects supervising project execution and intervening, if required to ensure timely completion of the projects preparing contract proposals for new projects measuring and analysing data using crash data processing software planning resource allocation for capacity enhancement and capability development to address the changing business environment and customer needs identifying avenues for improving laboratory productivity to increase operational efficiency supporting senior management, as required Develop competencies for independent project management & business development Manage team of test engineers in
