Assistant Editor

Job description Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development, writing, editing, and proofreading of content for both the print and digital editions of Todays Traveller Magazine. Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team to brainstorm and shape compelling storylines while ensuring timely content delivery. Liaise with freelance writers, photographers, and other creative professionals to uphold editorial quality and brand consistency. Contribute to the editorial planning process, aligning content with seasonal trends and industry developments. Craft engaging social media captions and posts tailored for various platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook) to boost visibility and reader engagement. Curate and write content for email newsletters, focusing on clarity, impact, and reader retention. Ensure all editorial content is SEO-friendly and adheres strictly to the magazines style and tone guidelines. Assist in managing daily editorial operations, including working alongside the design team to maintain production timelines. Oversee and refine visual elements, such as images and graphics, to enhance overall narrative and reader appeal. Provide editorial assistance for special features, event coverage, and high-visibility branded content as required. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a relevant field. 15 years of experience in editorial roles, ideally within the lifestyle or travel media space. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong command of the English language. Proven experience in digital content creation, including social media copywriting, email marketing, and SEO practices. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-moving editorial environment. Strong instinct for visual storytelling and a good eye for event-driven content.
