Power BI Developer

Job description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI/SSRS Developer with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence (BI) development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI and SSRS to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Roles and Responsibilities: Power BI Development: Design, build, and deploy interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI . Create data models and write advanced DAX queries for KPI measurements and business metrics. Perform data transformations using Power Query (M language) to prepare data for visualization. Integrate multiple data sources including SQL Server, Excel, and APIs into Power BI. Configure Power BI Gateways and manage Power BI Service for publishing and sharing dashboards. SSRS Reporting: Design and develop paginated reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) . Create complex stored procedures, functions, and queries for report generation. Work with parameters, expressions, and dynamic grouping in SSRS for advanced reporting needs. Data Management Analysis: Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Perform data validation and QA to ensure report accuracy and reliability. Identify data issues and work with data teams to address data quality problems. Performance Security: Optimize Power BI and SSRS report performance using indexing, partitioning, and data caching techniques. Implement row-level security in Power BI for data access control. Ensure data security and governance standards are adhered to in all reporting solutions. 4+ years of experience in Power BI report development and dashboard creation. Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL for data querying, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Strong understanding of data modeling (star schema/snowflake schema) and ETL concepts . Experience with DAX and M (Power Query) . Knowledge of Power BI Service (publishing, workspaces, gateways, sharing reports). Good understanding of data security, permissions , and row-level security . Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
