Role Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Design Engineer – Industrial Design to join our multidisciplinary R&D team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in product design and ergonomics, with a passion for developing innovative, user-centric medical devices, especially in the point-of-care segment. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop enclosure and hardware solutions for POCT devices. • CAD expertise — Modelling, Surfacing, top-down modelling, simulation, assemblies, and 2D drafting (SolidWorks, Ansys) • Experience in designing plastic parts of consumer appliances • Strong understanding of materials (esp. plastic and metals) and their manufacturing processes including moulding, stamping, die casting, CNC machining etc. • Collaborate with suppliers through DFM, including optimising mould designs and utilising mould flow analysis • Proven track record of executing creative, complex mechanical design problems and successfully building physical prototypes. • Familiarity with simulation and analysis for stress, thermal, and tolerance analysis (ANSYS, SolidWorks). • Ability to rapidly create proof-of-concepts through Rapid prototyping • Participate in risk analysis (DFMEA), design verification, and design validation processes. • Contribute to documentation for regulatory submissions (e.g., ISO 13485, MDR, CDSCO, USFDA). Key Skills & Competencies: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field • 2+ years of professional mechanical design experience in consumer electronic appliances products • Strong knowledge of GD&T, design and develop enclosure and hardware solutions. • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.). • Basic knowledge of electronics and mechatronics integration preferred. • Understanding of medical device standards (ISO 13485, IEC 60601, etc.) is an advantage. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. • 2+ years of hands-on experience (Medical device or POCT experience preferred). • Freshers with strong portfolios and internships in med-tech or POCT projects will also be considered for junior roles.
