PostgreSQL Administrator

Job description Role & responsibilities Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and updates. Monitor database performance and implement optimizations to ensure efficient operation. Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly. Collaborate with the support team to address and solve customer-reported problems. Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive information. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards. Analyze and optimize SQL queries for improved database performance. Collaborate with developers to enhance application performance. Implement and maintain high availability solutions. Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime. Create and maintain detailed documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures. Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to address database-related requirements. Participate in cross-functional teams to implement new database solutions. Preferred candidate profile Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator (L2) or similar role. In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, configuration, and best practices. Proficient in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Bash). Experience with database security and compliance. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Open source migration oracle to Postgres, DB2 to Postgres Familiarity with other database management systems. Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL).
