Mechanical Maintenance Manager

Job description A Mechanical Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, systems, and facilities. This includes developing and implementing maintenance plans, managing budgets, supervising maintenance staff, ensuring safety compliance, and collaborating with other departments to optimise operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Planning and Execution:Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance programs, including scheduling inspections, repairs, and upgrades. Budget Management:Manage the maintenance budget, track expenses, and negotiate contracts with vendors. Team Leadership:Supervise and train maintenance technicians and other staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources. Safety Compliance:Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations. Problem Solving:Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. Vendor Management:Negotiate contracts with vendors for spare parts, equipment, and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Inventory Control:Manage spare parts inventory, ensure timely replenishment, and minimize storage costs. Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, create reports on performance and cost, and track key performance indicators. Collaboration:Work with other departments (e.g., engineering, operations) to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall system reliability.
