Job description Key Responsibilities: Market and Business Analysis: Monitor and analyse domestic and international coal markets, including price trends, supply-demand dynamics, competitor activity, and regulatory changes. Regular updates of available stocks at different ports and analysis of the dispatch trends and upcoming vessels timelines. Prepare regular market intelligence reports and briefings for the trading and executive teams. Maintain and update pricing models, cost structures, and profitability analysis tools. Trading Support: Collaborate with traders/branch heads to evaluate deal structures, pricing strategies, and contract performance. Analyse historical trading data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for optimization. Provide real-time support for trade execution and post-trade analysis. Operational & Financial Analytics: Track and report key trading KPIs, including margins, logistics costs, inventory positions, and financial exposure. Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for the trading desk. Work closely with finance and operations teams (Shipping, Port Operations, Procurement & Branch Operations) to ensure data accuracy and alignment. Digital Tools & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making. Automate routine analysis and reporting processes using Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools. Managing business meetings, preparing presentation for Management and execute in well-defined manner. Risk Management: Support risk assessment processes by identifying market, credit, and operational risks in trading activities. Preferred Attributes: Familiarity with international coal supply chains, shipping/logistics, and contract structures (e.g., FOB, CIF, LC terms etc.). A proactive mindset and the ability to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations.
