Job description We are seeking an experienced EHS candidate who will be responsible for leading the EHS function for the assigned project and ensuring the organization's commitment to a safe and healthy work environment. The EHS Advisor will play a crucial role in implementing the EHS Management System, leading safety initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Educational Requirements and Work Experience Minimum Education Requirements: B.Sc., Diploma in Engineering or Graduation in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical). Post-graduation in EHS from a reputed institute or NICMAR, or an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (State Board of Technical Education). Years of Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience is required. Warehouse construction experience is mandatory. Experience in building construction would be an added advantage. Essential Accountabilities Implementation of Safety Management System (SMS): Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and state rules and regulations as they apply to the organizations operations. Maintains SMS in compliance with state and organizational requirements. Measuring Performance: Sets SMART goals and strives to achieve them in an effective manner. Assists in achieving company goals and initiatives, profitability, and productivity requirements. Enforcement of Policies: Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and rules. Ensures Management of Change for all organizational changes. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Ensures that all hazardous activities are analyzed and required preventive measures are implemented. Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective and preventive measures, and follows up on task completion. Equipment Safety: Ensures timely safety equipment inspection whether internally or by contractors. Continuous Improvement: Identifies best practices and leads continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices. Develops and recommends improvements to all Quality Management Systems. Competency Development: Ensures workforce competencies are maintained relevant to their duties and roles in contingency management. Develops, implements, and maintains employee training programs as indicated by regulatory guidelines, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. Communication: Manages communication strategies. Identifies efficient required information sharing channels and implements the same. Ensures zero communication gap at the project and up to the reporting manager level. Stakeholder Management: Provides effective EHS inductions to visitors and employees. Conducts and leads safety meetings with stakeholders. Guides and leads the contractors project team for effective EHS implementation. Conducts periodic EHS audits. Reporting: Ensures the effective and timely reporting of all EHS communications. Key Knowledge Areas In-depth knowledge of local, national, and international safety regulations applicable to the construction industry. In-depth knowledge of ISO 45001:2018. Knowledge about high-rise building construction activities, associated hazards, and controls. Understanding and ensuring compliance with ISO 45001:2018. Good communication skills and soft skills. Developing and testing emergency response plans specific to construction sites. Coordinating with local emergency services and first responders. Conducting drills to ensure the readiness of the emergency response team. Reviewing and approving safety measures for construction equipment and machinery. Understanding and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations related to construction activities. Expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining a Safety Management System.
