Job description Position Description POSITION Sr. Design EngineerDEPARTMENT Design EngineeringEMPLOYMENT STATUS Full time, permanent REPORTS TO Head of DesignsROLES REPORTING TO THIS POSITION none DCL Bulk Technologies operates globally in a number of different markets. This role will have responsibility for the delivery of the overall project construction/design requirements KEY RELATIONSHIPS Internal Materials and Supply Chain Team, Stores Team, Despatch Team, Manufacturing Engineering Team, Design Engineering Team, Product Development Team, International Operations Team External Suppliers, Service Providers KRA- Design Drawings 35% Assist Head of Designs in preparing of all drawings for approvals D Prepare fabrication detailed drawings in accordance with approved design drawings. D Controlling percentage of revisions of documents / drawings by using previous information available for the product and feedback received from other departments. D Send the detailed drawing to production staff. D Recording the discussions at the shop floor and / or vendors will be used to prepare assembly procedures. N/D KRA- Customer Interface 25% Responsible for Site visits for Collection of data for drawings, D Coordinate with Head of Manufacturing on preparation of Bill of quantities (BOQ) D Responsible for conducting feasibility study for location and Physically take dimensions of the sites. D Interact with Customer on feasibility of a project design. D Collect drawings from the customerM/D KRA- Manufacturing 35% Update/generate all digital records on production processes for Head of Manufacturing. N All fabrication drawings that need to be rolled out should be handed to the Head of Manufacturing. Head of manufacturing will be responsible for rolling them out to the workers. D Carry fabrication drawing to shop floor and tally it with production supervisor during production. N KRA- Training and Development 5% Identify own training requirements, as appropriate for skills and tasks, to provide multi-skilling and consistency of quality at work. PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications Essential/DesirableDiploma/ B.Tech Mechanical Engineering EssentialWorking knowledge of CAD software etc.Essential Accounting systems and procedures. Computer literacy particularly with Excel, Word and with accounting Systems .desirable Technical Knowledge, skills and experience Good knowledge in Preparation of 2D /3D drawings. EssentialKnowledge of preparing engineering & manufacturing drawingsEssentialExperience with reading and understanding technical drawings EssentialForecasting of a problem & analysing the same with in available resourcesdesirableIntermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Office, MS Access, Lotus Notes, and other relevant software applicationsdesirablePersonal Attributes Well - developed time management and organisation skills Demonstrated practical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.
