We, at Oracle Labs, Brisbane, are working on Intelligent Application Security. We are investigating techniques that provide an automated approach that integrates security into all aspects of application development and operations. This is done using techniques such as program synthesis that incorporate signals from the source code, bug reports, deployments including configurations, and beyond, to provide actionable intelligence to developers, security analysts, operations staff, and autonomous systems. The successful candidate will work on improving the security of large applications by leveraging runtime data and security reports to synthesise application and deployment-specific security policies. They will also contribute to semi-automated patching techniques so that any potential issues can be remediated quickly. Towards this they will work others who are experts in application security and program analysis.
