Panel Operator - Production of Hazardous Chemicals

Job description Role & responsibilities The DCS Panel Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant processes through a Distributed Control System (DCS) in a hazardous chemicals manufacturing environment. The role requires continuous monitoring of process parameters, prompt response to alarms, and close coordination with field operators to ensure smooth operations in compliance with safety and environmental standards Job Responsibilities : Operate and monitor the plant processes via DCS and ensure all parameters are within specified limits. Coordinate with field operators for routine and emergency operations. Take corrective actions in case of deviations or alarms in accordance with SOPs and emergency handling procedures. Log operating data accurately in the DCS logbooks and digital systems. Start-up, shutdown, and troubleshoot equipment and processes as per instructions and procedures. Maintain communication with maintenance, safety, and laboratory teams for smooth plant functioning. Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety policies, and statutory requirements. Monitor raw material charging, product transfer, and utility usage as per plan. Support emergency response procedures including plant evacuation, first aid, or fire-fighting if required. Participate in shift handover with detailed reporting of plant condition and abnormalities. Report any unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents immediately and actively support the safety culture. Strict adherence to companys EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies. Use of appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times. Knowledge of handling and emergency procedures for hazardous materials (MSDS, spill response, etc.). Preferred candidate profile Diploma / B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry or related field. 2 to 4 years of experience in a continuous chemical plant, preferably involving highly hazardous chemicals. Hands on experience in DCS operation .
