Job description Job Title : Senior Mechanical Engineer Bottoming cycle (HRSG + STG) of Gas based Combined Cycle power project for CPP (Capacity 3000MW) Location: Lagos (During Engineering Phase) & Akwa Ibom, Nigeria (During Pre-commissioning & Commissioning phase) EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: B.E. / M.E. - Mechanical engineering. Overview: This position will be responsible for Front End Engineering of Combined Cycle Power Projects (Brayton Cycle + Rankine Cycle). He should Possesses a broad knowledge about Thermal Electric Power Generation domain involving Project development & Execution from Concept to Commissioning. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Preparation of FEED report to Gas based Combined Cycle Power Plant. Perform & Selection of Combined Cycle Power Block Equipments Configuration analysis on the basis of Captive Power Plant (CPP) operational concepts to the process utilities. Finalization of HMBD for Combined Cycle Power Plant in consultation with HRSG and Steam Turbine OEMs. Performing Plant Equipment’s & Pipe Line Sizing calculations as per Codes & Standards. Preparation of Plant General Layout for above said Power Plant project. Preparation of Water Balance Diagram for above said Power Plant project. Preparation of Technical specification for Combined Cycle Mechanical packages like, HRSG, STG and other Common BOP Systems like Cooling Towers, Chillers, Water Treatment plant, Effluent treatment plant, Pumps, Feed water Heaters, Plate Heat Exchangers, Compressors, Performance Heaters , EOT Crane, Piping & Fittings, HVAC and Fire Fighting. Etc., Preparing BOP PID’s (Fuel gas System, Cooling water system, Raw water & DM Water System, Steam System (HP, CRH,HRH & LP) & Compressed Air system) with respect to GTG and STG OEM’s PID’s terminal points. Technical review of Bidders offers for the above said packages and furnish technical clearance to procurement team for order placement. Review & Approval of above said packages Manufacturer’s PID, General Arrangement drawings, Datasheets and giving Manufacturing clearance. Preparation of Mechanical Erection specification for above referred Simple and Combined cycle power plant projects. Attending meeting with Sub-contractors for technical related discussions. Review and Approval of Inspection test plans, Safety procedures, Project procedures, Equipment Erection method statements, O&M Spares, Special tools & tackles, Commissioning procedures, Reliability Run test procedures, and PG test procedures etc. according to project contractual scope of work and specification requirements. Field Engineering supervision during Site Execution, Pre-Commissioning and commissioning phases of the power project. Coordinating with internal departments for various interfaces like Civil, Electrical, Control & instrumentation etc. for the timely completion of engineering review of the EPC Contractors drawings and documents. Familiar with International codes, Standards and recommended practices for design and selection of Mechanical equipment (ASHRAE/ BS/EN/ASME/IS/API, ASTM) REQUIREMENTS: 10 to 15 years of relevant proven experience in Gas based Simple & Combined cycle power plant project execution starting from concept to commissioning. He should have Strong knowledge on Boilers (HRSG), Steam Turbine, Balance of Plant (BOP) Equipment’s, General layout and arrangement of power plant buildings, Basic Electrical concepts, Basic Instrumentation concepts, Basic civil concepts and Construction engineering etc. He should have the knowledge about an ideology behind the Captive power plant Equipment’s configuration, Construction sequence, Commissioning & Operational philosophies, mainly on Load Management System etc. (Load sharing, Load Govern Mode& Load shedding). Readiness to travel and stay as single status at site. Readiness to be at site based in Kwale / Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria (100%) Previous international experience is required.
