Quality Control Inspector

Job description Role Overview: We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector for our academic language editing services. This role will be aligned with American Journal Experts (AJE). AJE, a part of the MPS group of companies, is a leading provider of academic editing and publication support services for researchers worldwide. AJE provides high-quality language editing, peer-review support, and research communication services to authors, journals, and universities across 192 countries. With deep subject-matter expertise and tech-enabled workflows, AJE raises the clarity, accuracy, and impact of scholarly manuscriptsaccelerating the path from discovery to publication. Quality Control Inspectors serve as the final set of eyes that customer deliverables pass through. They ensure every edited manuscript meets AJE quality standards before delivery to the customer. They identify residual language or formatting errors, make sure all deliverables meet the service scope, and provide data-driven feedback that improves editor performance and internal workflows. Key responsibilities Check language, grammar, punctuation, style consistency, and journal formatting on manuscripts returned by editors and make changes to correct any residual errors/gaps Work in a deadline-driven environment and ensure files are delivered on time and according to service guidelines Provide written feedback to editors once quality checks are completed Maintain clear communication with internal Ops team on quality or deadline issues Support cross-functional projects to improve editorial quality or turn-around-times, as required Required skills and qualifications Bachelor’s degree in science, medicine, engineering, social science, or humanities Exceptional attention to detail; strong command of written English and excellent proofreading skills Proficient in MS Word, specifically, Track Changes and styling options Clear written and verbal communication; able to work independently against tight customer deadlines.
