Competition Manager

Job description Key Responsibilities: Event Planning & Execution - Oversee logistics for tournament setup and operations - Coordinate with venue authorities, vendors, and volunteers - Manage event registration and scheduling via Tournament Manager software Team Coordination - Recruit, train, and manage volunteers including referees, judges, scorers, and reset crews - Assign clear roles and responsibilities to all event staffCompliance & Quality- Ensure all activities adhere to the VIQRC and REC Foundation rules and guidelines - Conduct inspections and ensure all teams comply with safety and technical regulations Technology Management - Set up and troubleshoot Tournament Manager software - Coordinate AV and technical needs, including scoring displays and field electronics Stakeholder Communication - Serve as the point of contact for teams, schools, REC Foundation representatives, and sponsors - Provide timely communication pre-, during, and post-event Reporting & Documentation - Maintain match results, judging records, and award documentation - Submit post-event reports to stakeholders and REC Foundation as needed Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent (preferred in Education, Event Management) Preferred prior experience in organizing events or school competitions Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and event software (preferably Tournament Manager) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage stress and resolve conflicts on the fly Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including weekends Desirable Skills: Experience in event and volunteer management Technical aptitude for robotics equipment and competition setups First-aid training or safety certifications (a plus) Work Environment: Fast-paced, team-oriented environment On-site event days may involve long hours, physical setup, and standing for extended periods Travel to competition venues as required Role: Event Planner / Manager Industry Type: E-Learning / EdTech Department: Food, Beverage & Hospitality Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Role Category: Events & Banquet Education UG: Any Graduate Key Skills Skills highlighted with ‘‘ are preferred keyskills Event ManagementVendor Management Stakeholder ManagementQuality Standards
