Job description Role & responsibilities Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer Java & AWS Experience: 5 to 10 years Location: Any Xebia location ( Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Bhopal) Department: Technology / Engineering About the Role We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Java (17+), microservices, and AWS cloud technologies. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs that power mission-critical applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build resilient cloud-native services leveraging the latest tools and best practices in the AWS ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy backend services using Java 17 and Spring Boot, Quarkus, or equivalent frameworks. Build and manage microservices-based architecture with high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability. Work extensively with AWS Cloud services including but not limited to Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, CDK, and CloudWatch. Implement infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit) or equivalent tools. Integrate databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, and ensure data consistency and security. Optimize application performance and ensure adherence to best practices in cloud-native development. Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and agile development ceremonies. Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and frontend teams to ensure seamless product delivery. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 and deep knowledge of object-oriented programming, concurrency, and RESTful services. Proven experience building and deploying microservices in a production environment. Proficiency in Spring Boot, Quarkus, or similar backend frameworks. Solid experience with AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and CDK. Hands-on with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and source control (Git). AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect) is a plus. Kubernetes).
