Welding Engineer

Job description Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer for welding department to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding processes, materials, and standards, with expertise in preparing welding qualification documents, WPS, PQR, and WPQ as per ASME and ISO standards. The candidate should possess excellent problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of mechanical and chemical testing of materials, and hands-on experience with welding machines and parameters. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) as per ASME and ISO standards. Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards for welding activities. Interpret engineering drawings and standards to finalize filler wires, welding parameters, and other welding-related specifications. Optimize welding processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Conduct and oversee mechanical and chemical testing of materials to ensure compliance with project requirements. Analyze test data and provide recommendations for material selection and welding processes. Hands-on experience with welding machines and understanding of welding parameters. Troubleshoot welding equipment and process-related issues. Ensure welding activities meet quality standards and project specifications. Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance with welding procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution. Mentor and guide junior engineers and welding technicians. Identify and resolve welding-related issues during fabrication and production. Provide technical support for root cause analysis and corrective actions. Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering. CSWIP or AWS certification is a strong advantage Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in welding engineering. Proven experience in preparing WPS, PQR, and WPQ as per ASME and ISO standards. Hands-on experience with welding machines and parameters. Fabrication experience of Stainless steel, alloy steel, and aluminium alloys/ Technical Skills: Understanding of mechanical and chemical testing and properties of materials. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and standards. Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
