Job description Job Title: SolidWorks 3Design Engineer Location: Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh Company: Alankaram Job Description: Alankaram is looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled SolidWorks Design Engineer to join our team in Pithampur. The ideal candidate will be responsible for 3D modeling, simulation, drafting, and documentation of furniture products using SolidWorks, ensuring manufacturability, performance, and aesthetic quality. Roles & Responsibilities: Design Development: Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of furniture products, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks. Translate sketches and design briefs into manufacturable designs. Ensure compliance with ergonomic, functional, and aesthetic standards while balancing cost and performance. CAD Modeling and Simulation: Build parametric models and assemblies with accurate dimensions, materials, and design features. Conduct simulations and virtual tests to validate structural integrity and product performance. Optimize designs for weight, material efficiency, and ease of manufacturing. Drafting and Documentation: Generate detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOM) for production. Ensure all documentation adheres to industry and internal standards. Maintain version control and accurate documentation of all design assets. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production teams to align designs with manufacturing capabilities. Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to provide technical insights. Communicate clearly across departments to resolve design challenges and meet project timelines. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on models and drawings to ensure precision and adherence to standards. Address design discrepancies, tolerance issues, and manufacturability challenges. Support the implementation of quality improvements in coordination with QA and production teams. Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest SolidWorks features, CAD techniques, and design innovations. Attend workshops and training sessions for skill enhancement. Proactively contribute to process optimization and workflow improvements. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. Proficiency in SolidWorks with hands-on experience in modeling, simulation, and drafting. Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Prior experience in furniture design or manufacturing is highly desirable. SolidWorks certification or equivalent CAD credentials is a plus.
