Data Engineer

Job description Work closely with the Technology Product Owner and Engineering Leads/SMEs to understand the business requirements and develop technology solutions. Actively engage in the whole delivery lifecycle from inception, design, development, testing, deployment, operations, monitoring and continuous improvement of systems and services. Accountable for the technical excellence of the squad, including technical debt management, technical risk management and ensuring alignment to standards and frameworks. Recognised as a technical authority and escalation point for the team, guiding them on the HOW . Bring a proven record in managing and mentoring teams, with a commitment to building team capabilities and fostering a positive, inclusive culture. Stay abreast of the latest market developments in technologies and data engineering practices and recommend potential innovative technologies and tools to enhance the capabilities of the engineering team. Contribute to engineering communities and provide ongoing support of platforms as required. What will you bring To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in application delivery with hands on experience with SQL Server Database and Microsoft MSBI Technology (SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services) Proven ability to develop and maintain complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting. Extensive hands-on experience in data analysis, profiling and technical solution delivery in line with data warehousing principles in SQL Server. Good understanding of networking concepts (protocols, security, virtual network, monitoring and troubleshooting etc.) Good to have knowledge around scalable web tier architecture such as J2EE framework, common webserver configuration (JBOSS/IIS), security best practices Good experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and observability tools Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies. Solid understanding of software engineering principles, patterns, and practices.
