However, some common responsibilities of a laboratory assistant include : Equipment and Instrumentation : They assist in setting up and calibrating laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in proper working order. This can include microscopes, centrifuges, spectrometers, and other specialized equipment. Sample Preparation : Lab assistants are responsible for preparing and handling samples, such as biological specimens, chemicals, or materials, according to established protocols. This involves measuring, labeling, and storing samples appropriately. Experiment Support : They assist scientists or researchers in conducting experiments by following protocols, preparing reagents and solutions, and performing tests or measurements under their guidance.
