Production Supervisor

Job description Job Title: Production Supervisor Recycling Plant Department: Production / Operations Reporting To: Plant G.M / Production Manager Location: Dasana, Ghaziabad Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the recycling plant's production lines. This includes managing personnel, ensuring safety and quality standards, achieving production targets, and maintaining equipment efficiency. The role ensures all recycling activities (sorting, shredding, washing, granulating, etc.) are performed in a safe, timely, and environmentally responsible manner. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate activities of production workers in the recycling process. Plan and organize production schedules based on demand and inventory. Ensure proper handling and segregation of incoming recyclable materials (plastics, metals, etc.). Monitor machine operations such as shredders, granulators, balers, and extruders. Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards (5S, PPE usage, etc.). Enforce quality control checks to ensure final product meets specifications. Troubleshoot and escalate mechanical or process-related issues. Maintain production records: shift logs, downtime reports, input-output ratio. Train and guide new workers on process standards and machinery. Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams for smooth operations. Reduce waste and maximize material recovery efficiency. Ensure compliance with environmental and legal regulations. Qualifications: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred. Minimum 35 years experience in plastic/metal recycling or manufacturing. Familiar with machinery like conveyor belts, crushers, grinders, washing lines. Knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, and safety protocols. Basic understanding of quality systems (ISO, 5S, Kaizen). Ability to manage a diverse team and handle shift operations. Skills Required: Strong leadership and decision-making ability. Technical troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and reporting. Attention to detail and process-oriented mindset. Basic computer knowledge (Excel). Working Conditions: Shift-based working (including night shifts if needed). Exposure to heat, noise, and dust typical of recycling operations. Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
