Job description ASSOCIATE/ EXECUTIVE - MERCHANDISING Principal Responsibilities Function To meet customers needs through merchandising products, providing an excellent service, and promoting DDFS Ensure stock levels are adequate to meet retail needs Maintain and develop the image of DDFS Provide the highest levels of customer service Adhere to rules and regulations as per the policies and procedures manual Key Responsibilities Ensure that the shop floor is fully stocked always and is merchandised to the highest standards as per the company merchandise layout and in line with suppliers merchandising requests Ensure that all saleable stock is quickly and properly transferred from the store to the shop Ensure that proper stock rotation planning is applied to all date sensitive merchandise. While ensuring DDFS meets local customs regulations Ensure that all stock with special storage and display requirements are properly treated Ensure that all stock is properly tagged and coded Ensure that all the necessary stock is always ordered from the stores and/or bonded warehouse to keep the retail units fully merchandised Efficiently action any request for information from Senior Managers or Duty Supervisors Action administration amendments on pricing, bar codes or PLU numbers as and when instructed by the Duty Supervisor Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all company documentation Take part in any company stock takes as they arise To comply with any other duties as assigned by the Duty Supervisor/ Retail Manager A. Merchandising & Display Ensure that the highest standard of pricing, ticketing, and layout are maintained by all members of the shop floor team always Ensure that a high standard of cleanliness exists on the sales floor and on all fixtures, fittings and displays Ensure vertical blocking of appropriate merchandise is carried out in the liquor and cigarettes department and any other department as instructed Ensure that where supplier agreements exist, stock is merchandised in accordance with that agreement Maintain a constant liaison with relevant personnel to ensure that product range and stock levels are consistent with the requirements of Delhi Duty Free. Acquire excellent product knowledge to enhance merchandising skills Keep the Buying department informed through the Duty Supervisor of any changes in customer buying trends Attend and actively participate in supplier training seminars Take an active part in the training of sales staff as required B. Stock Control & Handling Ensure that all stock transfers are correctly processed Ensure that all stock is correctly identified and labelled Inspect all stock on a regular basis and identify and promote dated stock to ensure correct stock rotation Maintain awareness of present level of stockholding and the importance of controlling stock levels Ensure that due care is taken in the physical movement and handling of stock Ensure that sales staff are fully aware of the main selling feature of the stock in their assigned department Participate in company official stock takes as and when necessary Ensure that all staff adhere to the correct procedure for acceptance of stock and that all paperwork is completed correctly C. Security Ensure the highest level of confidentiality with regards to all company documentation, information, and statistics Ensure that all stock transfers are properly counted, checked, and entered on the system Ensure that no movement of stock takes place without the correct documentation having been completed Ensure only authorized personnel have access to keys, security codes and passwords Ensure the proper use of any special security devices that are made available Ensure constant state of awareness to hazards in any area of BDFS Summary of Duties and Responsibilities The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that all stock is: Ordered from stores Properly transferred Put on sale Is in good condition Is correctly priced Is correctly coded Is correctly merchandised The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that all shelving
