Job description 1.Proven skills in managing research and development teams working across disciplines and research topics; 2.Ability to develop new and innovative research collaborations as demonstrated by both programme development and fund raising; 3.Proven skills to develop research strategies and planning with an aim to undertake foresight analysis in research and development; 4.Publications in reputed journals; 5.Skills to develop and deploy technology interventions that focus on progressive research and market development; 6.Skills to work under pressure and deliver on multiple tasks. Responsibilities of the Dean R&D 1.Lead the research teams at the University to consolidate current and emerging research programmes; 2.Support the Vice-Chancellor in identifying and developing research and development portfolio relevant to the mandate of the University; 3.Support various research teams at the University to identify research and development opportunities as well as sources of finances to undertake actions; 4.Develop sound technology deployment platform for the University on transdisciplinary issues of interest; 5.Support the academic programmes with inputs related to research and design of academic programmes; 6.Lead fund raising efforts to further strengthen the research, development and technology programmes at the University; 7.Lead development of course(s) relevant to using the experience and expertise available with the University; and 8.Lead efforts to develop appropriate communication and outreach material related to research, development and technological interventions related to University activities.
