Job description Role & responsibilities A "maintenance head" in the textile is responsible for overseeing all aspects of equipment and facility maintenance within a textile mill or factory. This includes planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance activities, managing technical teams, ensuring safety compliance, and optimizing equipment performance. Preferred candidate profile Technical Expertise: A comprehensive understanding of textile machinery, including different types of equipment (e.g., Coating, Dyeing, Jet , Jigar, Boiler, weaving, sizing), and their maintenance requirements is essential. Leadership and Management: This involves effectively managing a maintenance team, delegating tasks, and ensuring that maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and effectively. Communication and Collaboration:The ability to communicate clearly with team members, production staff, and senior management is crucial for coordinating maintenance activities and addressing issues promptly. Proactive Maintenance Planning:Establishing and implementing preventive maintenance procedures, using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule work, and proactively addressing potential issues before they lead to breakdowns are vital. Safety Knowledge:A thorough understanding of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA Standards) and the ability to implement safety protocols to protect the workforce are essential. Problem-Solving:The ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and develop solutions to minimize downtime is critical. Budget Management:Effectively managing the maintenance budget, allocating resources, and controlling costs are important for ensuring the long-term sustainability of the textile plant. Adaptability:The textile industry is constantly evolving, so the ability to adapt to new technologies and changes in production processes is important.
