Job description Title : Manager DMG PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: A two-to-three-line statement outlining the objective or the reason for which the job exists.To oversee the die maintenance operations for the A4 and A5 units for ensuring the efficient maintenance and performance of dies/moulds, through the implementation of comprehensive maintenance programs, stakeholder interaction, new tools trials, and efficient spare parts management to support routine operations as per company policies. It should capture only the key responsibilities of the role.Metrics that are used to evaluate the success / performance of the role; specific targets do not need to be included as those would change from Y-o-Y ResponsibilitiesKPIsDie and Mould Maintenance Management Implement a comprehensive die maintenance program, including regular inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and repair activities. Collaborate with the production team to schedule die maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules. Develop and maintain documentation related to die maintenance procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols. Monitor and control the die maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance practices. Conduct root cause analysis of die failures and breakdowns, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. Die maintenance downtime (hours) Die life Cost of die maintenance (% reduction) Casting defects Green spider score (Score) Cost-saving Initiatives (CIT) Customer communication for die life and new die PO requirements (Frequency) Yield% improvements projects Innovative ideas implemented Mask addition and removal efficiency (%) New Tool Trials Conduct trials of new tools to ensure they meet required specifications and performance criteria. Conduct thorough testing and analysis of new tools, assessing their performance, compatibility with existing processes. Document and analyze trial results, providing detailed reports and recommendations on the suitability and effectiveness of new tools. Customer and Stakeholder Engagement Engage with customers regarding die life, performance, and new tool purchase orders. Address customer concerns and feedback related to die maintenance. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address customer concerns related to die performance, quality issues, or non-conformities. Coordinate with production teams to integrate new tools into the manufacturing process. Inventory and Spare Parts Management Maintain a comprehensive inventory management system for die maintenance spares, ensuring accurate tracking and availability of spare parts. Identify critical spare parts based on historical data, failure analysis, and input from operators/engineers. Monitor inventory levels and forecast future requirements to ensure timely procurement and minimize downtime. Analyze die maintenance costs and identify areas for cost reduction. Policies, Processes and Procedures Assist in formulation of die maintenance plan and ensure day-to-day execution in line with function standards & regulations. Implement new initiatives/ projects as per established policies to meet future requirements of A4 plant. Provide inputs for improvements in business processes, specifications and best practices. People Management Participate in recruitment activities & ensure retention / engagement of own team. Set performance objectives of own team, evaluate / appraise team members and provide regular feedback & guidance. Guide, mentor and develop own team to take larger and complex responsibilities. Evaluate training and development requirements for own team and make recommendations for learning interventions. EducationEssential: Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Engineering ExperienceEssential: 16-18 years of of experience in tool room or die maintenance in a manufacturing plant, with at least 6-8 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
