Your Role in Our Space Mission:
As Principal System Architect for Reusability, you will lead exploration of the reusable-launcher design space and drive convergence towards a coherent vehicle architecture. Using models and analyses developed by specialist teams, you will identify the most valuable design paths, direct further investigation and make architecture decisions that balance performance, development risk, operability, lifecycle cost and profitability.
Qualification Checklist
Extensive launch-vehicle architecture experience, including direct work on rocket development programs.
Demonstrated experience with reusable launch vehicles, recovery architectures or reuse-driven vehicle design.
Proven ownership of multidisciplinary architecture trades and high-impact design decisions.
Deep understanding of reusable-launcher architectures, subsystem interactions and the dependencies connecting vehicle design, recovery and operations.
Strong multidisciplinary knowledge across propulsion, fluids, structures, avionics, trajectory, production, logistics, launch operations and refurbishment.
Ability to interpret integrated model outputs, judge their assumptions and limitations, and translate them into architecture decisions and targeted follow-on work.
Sound systems-engineering and configuration-management knowledge, with strong judgement in lifecycle cost, operational economics and profitability trades.
Decisive cross-functional leader who can challenge local optima, set direction under uncertainty and create alignment without relying on line authority.
Clear strategic communicator across engineering, program and executive audiences.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Mission Brief
You will need strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, direct reports and leaders within and outside the organization. You will be part of a team responsible for developing stage separation mechanisms, fairing separation mechanisms, hydraulic, pneumatic and electro-mechanical actuators and umbilical fluid and electrical systems. You have mechanical and integrated design experience as well as proven track record of delivering results on time and quality, while completing collaborative projects effectively. Your design, analysis and manufacturing skills enable you to own the outcomes of key mechanism design trades and development of our Spectrum Launch Vehicle.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
Design of the vehicle mechanisms through design phases (CAD, drawings, sizing) until qualification and acceptance.
Requirements definition for vehicle mechanisms
Driving trade studies, manufacturing optimization and performance for mechanisms
Interface with teams in static structures and propulsion, AGNC, AIT, production
Creating, reviewing and releasing development and flight hardware drawings and design documentation
Identifying build/test/design optimizations and working them to resolution
Contribute to testing activities, such as definition of test plans and procedures, support to the test team in test execution and post processing
Qualification Checklist
Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field with proven record of excellent results and timely execution
8+ years of experience in a product full cycle design engineering role, including CAD (Siemens NX preferred), assembly and test execution
Proven experience with manufacturing processes, project management, scheduling/planning, materials and surface treatments
Strong understanding and proven experience of ISO GPS or ASME GD&T tolerancing principles
Experience with testing activities, definition of test plans and procedures, support to the test team in test execution and post processing
Excellent understanding of kinematic synthesis, pneumatic/hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation, mechatronics, instrumentation, structures strength, stability, fatigue failure modes and tribology
Collaborative and communication driven attitude: team work is key to success
Proficient English skills (German is a plus)
Bonus Skills
Previous experience with kinematic synthesis, pneumatic/hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation, mechatronics, instrumentation, structures strength, stability, fatigue failure modes and tribology in the aerospace industry.
Experience in structure and fluid systems for launch vehicle design or equivalent aerospace product, complex parts manufacturing and assembly techniques.
Strong experience with design engineering tools such as NX, TeamCenter, Solidworks, Catia or equivalent.
Experience with structural sizing tools such as Ansys, Altair HyperWorks solutions, Nastran, etc. and with analytical sizing calculations (e.g. HSB, Brunn, etc.)
Strong experience with ERP/MES Systems, product lifecycle management (PLM e.g. Teamcenter) and/or data management

Willing to travel to the launch site and suppliers when necessary for hardware support

Mission Brief
You will be responsible for the structural analysis of entire assemblies belonging to our rocket’s primary and secondary structures. From trading design concepts to sizing and validating design iterations and examining the impact of manufacturing deviations, you will play an important role in guiding design decisions and pushing performance and reliability of our structures forward.
As a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer you will play a major role in improving our overall analysis and verification workflow by defining standards, sharing technical knowledge and reviewing your colleagues’ results and identifying action points.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
Perform detailed stress analysis of aerospace structures and components using both classical hand calculations and advanced finite element methods (FEM), mostly of CFRP structures
Identify failure scenarios and collaborate with design engineers to review and optimize structural designs.
Define applicable load cases, addressing the impact of thermal, quasi-static loads (arising from random vibrations) etc.
Analise and provide possible solutions to manufacturing non-conformities
Develop test plans and support physical testing of components to verify sizing assumptions and qualify hardware.
Prepare comprehensive stress analysis reports and documentation for internal/external use
Improve our standards and toolchain for structural verification
Be familiar with classical design standards and have experience in the use of CAD software
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers within the team
Qualification Checklist
Degree in the field of Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical or (Computational) Mechanics, or any other related field.
At least 8 years of experience in analysing aerospace structures
Profound knowledge in classical hand-calculations and advanced FE Modelling of aerospace structures (Hypermesh, Optistruct etc)
Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
High degree of independence and confidence in assessing and trading design risks
Strong engineering intuition with regards to load paths and failure mechanisms
Holistic perspective on development of structures
Fluent English
Bonus Skills
Practical experience in the space sector (preferably in launch vehicle development program).
Previous experience using CAD, preferably with Siemens NX.
Good understanding of composite structures’ behaviour over a wide range of temperatures.
Practical experience with Material Qualification and composite manufacturing techniques.
